Genuine Intentions & Bona Fide Applicant Statement

Evidence-based statements addressing the bona fide applicant test and, on study applications, genuine student intentions.

From NZD $350 excluding GST · one round of amendments included
About this service

What it is

Immigration New Zealand assesses whether an applicant is a bona fide applicant — whether they genuinely intend to do what they say and to comply with the conditions of the visa. On study applications the same question is asked as genuine student intentions. These statements are written from the applicant's own circumstances, in the first person, with supporting evidence referenced rather than summarised.

What the document contains

  • First-person statement covering intentions, circumstances and ties
  • Study and career rationale where the application is for study
  • Financial and personal circumstances relevant to the assessment
  • Response to any adverse or ambiguous history on the file
  • Evidence schedule supporting each claim made

What the instructions require

  • Written in the first person, from information the applicant provides
  • Every claim tied to evidence that exists on the file

Summarised from Immigration New Zealand instructions current at publication. Instructions change — confirm the current position before relying on any figure.

How it works

From enquiry to delivered document

The same four steps on every file, whether it is a $155 translation or a $2,900 investor submission.

  1. 1

    Send us the file

Complete the intake form on this page, or e-mail what you have. Upload the documents you already hold — we will tell you what is missing rather than guess.

  2. 2

We confirm scope and a fixed fee

Within one business day you get the scope, a fixed fee and a delivery date in writing. Nothing starts until you accept. The fee does not move afterwards.

  3. 3

    We write the document

Drafted from your evidence, to the standard the assessor works to, with every figure sourced and nothing asserted that the evidence does not support.

  4. 4

    One revision included

Tell us what needs to change and we revise once at no charge. Most files never need it, and it is there so you are never stuck with a document that does not fit.

Questions

What clients ask about this service

Why does this need writing?

Because it's assessed on whether it rings true. Generic statements read as generic, and a previous refusal or an odd study choice needs addressing head-on, not avoided.

Is it in my own words?

Yes — first person, from what you tell us. It should sound like you, not like a vendor.

I've been refused before. Should I mention it?

Yes, always. A declared refusal explained is far safer than one INZ finds.
