Market Rate & Median Wage Report

Independent wage analysis showing the pay offered sits within the market rate for the occupation and the region.

From NZD $450 excluding GST · one round of amendments included
About this service

What it is

New Zealand sets its wage thresholds as multiples of a single median figure, but pay must still sit inside the market range for that occupation in that part of the country. This report does both jobs: it confirms the threshold position against the current median wage, and it benchmarks the offer against New Zealand wage data for comparable roles, so the figure in the employment agreement can be defended rather than asserted.

What the document contains

  • Threshold analysis against the current immigration median wage
  • Regional and occupational benchmarking from New Zealand wage sources
  • Comparable advertised roles with dated evidence
  • Analysis of how the offer sits within the range, including hours and allowances
  • Reconciliation with the advertised minimum and maximum pay

What the instructions require

  • Immigration median wage of NZD $35.00 per hour from 9 March 2026
  • 1.5x median applies to the longer continuous-stay settings
  • 2x median removes the advertising requirement
  • Benchmarked against Stats NZ, MBIE Occupation Outlook and NZ recruiter salary data

Summarised from Immigration New Zealand instructions current at publication. Instructions change — confirm the current position before relying on any figure.

Documents

Indicative, based on what you have selected. We confirm it in writing before any work starts, and tell you first if your matter needs something outside this scope. Excludes GST and any Immigration New Zealand or Tribunal fees.

A PayPal payment link, a credit or debit card link, or a bank transfer invoice is sent within one business day of the quote being confirmed — whichever you prefer.

Submitting this form does not create an engagement. We reply with scope, a fixed fee and a delivery date, and work begins only once you confirm.

How it works

From enquiry to delivered document

The same four steps on every file, whether it is a $155 translation or a $2,900 investor submission.

  1. 1

    Send us the file

Complete the intake form on this page, or e-mail what you have. Upload the documents you already hold — we will tell you what is missing rather than guess.

  2. 2

We confirm scope and a fixed fee

Within one business day you get the scope, a fixed fee and a delivery date in writing. Nothing starts until you accept. The fee does not move afterwards.

  3. 3

    We write the document

Drafted from your evidence, to the standard the assessor works to, with every figure sourced and nothing asserted that the evidence does not support.

  4. 4

    One revision included

Tell us what needs to change and we revise once at no charge. Most files never need it, and it is there so you are never stuck with a document that does not fit.

Questions

What clients ask about this service

We're paying above the median. Isn't that enough?

Meeting the median is one test. The other is whether the rate is genuinely what that role pays in that region — pay a chef $60/hr and an assessor will ask why.

Where does your data come from?

Stats NZ, MBIE Occupation Outlook, New Zealand recruiter salary guides and comparable live advertisements. Everything is cited.

What is the median wage now?

$35.00 an hour from 9 March 2026. Some settings use 1.5× or 2× that figure.
