IPT Appeal Submission (Immigration & Protection Tribunal)

Written submissions to the Immigration and Protection Tribunal on residence, humanitarian and deportation appeals.

From NZD $1,900 excluding GST · one round of amendments included
About this service

What it is

Appeals to the Immigration and Protection Tribunal run on short, fixed clocks and are decided largely on the papers. The submission has to identify where the decision went wrong, ground that in the instructions or the Act, and put the supporting evidence in front of the Tribunal in usable form. These submissions are prepared to that structure.

What the document contains

  • Statement of the grounds of appeal
  • Analysis of the decision against the applicable instructions
  • Chronology and statement of facts
  • Evidence bundle, indexed and paginated
  • Written submissions in the Tribunal's expected form

What the instructions require

  • 42 days to appeal a residence-class decision to the Tribunal
  • IPT filing fee is NZD $964, paid separately to the Ministry of Justice
  • 28 days onward to the High Court on a point of law
  • Humanitarian and deportation appeals run on their own timeframes

Summarised from Immigration New Zealand instructions current at publication. Instructions change — confirm the current position before relying on any figure.

How it works

From enquiry to delivered document

The same four steps on every file, whether it is a $155 translation or a $2,900 investor submission.

  1. 1

    Send us the file

Complete the intake form on this page, or e-mail what you have. Upload the documents you already hold — we will tell you what is missing rather than guess.

  2. 2

We confirm scope and a fixed fee

Within one business day you get the scope, a fixed fee and a delivery date in writing. Nothing starts until you accept. The fee does not move afterwards.

  3. 3

    We write the document

Drafted from your evidence, to the standard the assessor works to, with every figure sourced and nothing asserted that the evidence does not support.

  4. 4

    One revision included

Tell us what needs to change and we revise once at no charge. Most files never need it, and it is there so you are never stuck with a document that does not fit.
